Back in the summer I was very lucky to get to photograph the very first river baptism held at St Mary’s Church Hampton, South West London. St Mary’s is just across the river from me (in fact, I parked the car across the river and took a little ferry over; that’s where I took the very first photograph of the church) so it was an easy 10 minute commute to work for a change!

The weather that day was absolutely gorgeous (even a little too hot) but definitely perfect for a river baptism ceremony. There were several people getting baptised that day but I was photographing the beautiful baby girl who was joined by her family and friends in this special celebration. After the ceremony and the wonderful service at St Mary’s we walked a few steps to the nearby Bell Inn to continue celebrations. Touching and rather hilarious speeches followed, complete with beautiful signing, and it was time for me to head home.

Below is just a small selection of the many photographs I’ve taken that day for this special family. They have opted to purchase the digital copies of the images, as well as the fine art album that I’ve designed for them, and a framed fine art print of their favourite image to hang at home.
