So, today’s article in Daily Mail claims that shooting into the light is breaking one of the fundamental rules of photography. And guess what? Not true. Well, I guess you can expect it from Daily Mail (and what’s all that talk about Kate’s baby weight? stop already!).

If you’re a novice then yes, shooting into the light equals shooting yourself in the foot. It’s not easy to get the settings right. But with practice, this technique can produce gorgeous results. I’ve pulled a quick selection of my favourite backlit (shot into the light) photographs from the past couple of years. I’m still not perfect when it comes to back lighting, but I’m getting there!
