Every family and every couple is different. That’s why I always find out as much as I can about my clients before our session, so we can plan a photoshoot around their personalities and their interests. Some are home bodies – so I photograph them at home, doing their favourite things. Some are out and about most of the time, so that’s what we do for their photoshoot.
Liz and Jason are runners. They lead very busy lives, and it doesn’t really stop on weekends. Both originally from the US, they have lived in London for the past 10 years, but as they were preparing to become parents for the first time, they realised they didn’t really have a visual record of just the two of them, enjoying their old Kensington neighbourhood, their favourite part of London town.
So that’s exactly what we did for their pregnancy photoshoot in London.
From the famous Churchill Arms Pub in Notting Hill (in case you’re not local – it’s not actually a pub… it’s a Thai restaurant, and the food’s yummy!), to the backstreets of Kensington and then to Kensington Palace and their Hyde Park running routes, we walked around for a couple of hours and chatted about living in London, their impending parenthood and everything in between.
I was thrilled to have a chance to capture and preserve this part of their family history for them – and I’m leaving you my dear blog reader to enjoy those photographs too.
