Newborn photography in Central London

Every time I get a call about photographing a newborn baby, I get butterflies in my stomach.

Newborn photography is unlike any kind of family photography.

Apart from feeling extremely privileged to capture these precious moments in the family’s life, there is also a huge responsibility to get it right, as newborns are only newborns for a very short period of time.

Add sleep-deprived new parents, a baby that cries a lot and constantly needs changing, feeding or rocking to sleep… and you get the most demanding type of photoshoot. And yet, I LOVE photographing newborn babies. Yes, the parents may be desperate for sleep and generally not quite sure what they are doing, but there’s also exhilarating joy, tears of happiness and endless wonder about this new little stranger that THEY made.

Plus all the little details of brand new hair, folds of skin and those typical newborn squirms, and you get me all emotional as well!

Now, let me introduce this little fella to you. At only 8 days old, he was amazingly alert and it felt like he was staring right at you, as if he could understand exactly what is going on. Here are just some of my favourites from the session.
