This year I spent a little over a month in my home town in St.Petersburg, Russia. And of course I couldn’t keep myself from photographing! These two lovebirds, Oksana & Pieter are engaged and moving to The Netherlands soon to start their new life together. Having photographs of them in St.Petersburg – the city the love exploring together – was really important to them, and that’s where I stepped in. We started at the Peter & Paul’s Fortress (Petropavlovskaya Krepost), walked down Troitsky Bridge, past the Field of Mars and finished our shoot at the Palace Square and the Hermitage just after 9pm.
These guys were such a breeze to shoot – we laughed a lot, talked about living abroad and starting your life again away from home, danced, laughed some more and enjoyed the gorgeous city that St.Petersburg is.
My grand plan for the next year is to spend some time back home in St.Petersburg again around June-July and I’m now booking the sessions for the summer of 2014 for the White Nights of St.Peterburg. If you are heading that way, or indeed live there – drop me a line!
