Dhiren didn’t really want to leave the warmth and the comfort of his mother’s womb. It took a fair amount of coaxing to get him out of there, and it was not the easiest journey for his parents.

When I arrived for his newborn photoshoot, I found baby Dhiren surrounded by 3 generations of loving family, snuggled first in his mothers arms, then on daddy’s chest (baby’s preferred napping spot), and then being cooed and and generally adored by his grandparents, great-grandmother and auntie and uncle.

You could feel the love flowing through this house. I know these guys will make amazing parents, such care they took in getting to know their baby, following his cues and trying to make his transition from the safety and comfort of the womb to the big and scary outside world as smooth as possible.

What was left for me to do, is capture his first weeks of life, while his family went around their daily life with a new baby: feeding, rocking, nappy changing and the brief moments of relaxing when he finally fell asleep.

I hope you enjoy the small selection of my favourites from this newborn session.
