This expecting mama got in touch with me as she wanted to document the transition from one child to two with beautiful storytelling photographs and an album. She could already see her life changing, and that’s what attracted her to my honest, documentary storytelling.
Wow, what a year it’s been! I’ve photographed families in London (and beyond) from all across the world and laughed with them – a lot! I’ve captured pregnancies, newborn babies, toddlers, walks in the park, bathtimes, mealtimes and bedtimes. I’m thankful to every single family that trusted me to document their life for them.
I truly believe the main purpose of a first pregnancy photo shoot should not be showing off your bump in a pretty setting – that’s nice too of course, and that’s something that I’m more than happy to do as part of your documentary pregnancy photography session – but that’s not all! Maternity pictures, particularly if that’s your first child, should be all about celebrating you as a couple, and documenting your life pre-baby – because once you become parents, your life will change forever.
Liz and Jason are runners. They lead very busy lives, and it doesn’t really stop on weekends. Both originally from the US, they have lived in London for the past 10 years, but as they were preparing to become parents for the first time, they realised they didn’t really have a visual record of just the two of them, enjoying their old Kensington neighbourhood, their favourite part of London town.
